Frequently asked questions
What specs should you look at when buying a doorbell?
The basic parameter worth paying attention to when buying a doorbell is the power source. It can be mains power, a disposable battery or a rechargeable battery. Resistance to weather conditions also matters for this kind of device. A doorbell's sealing class is defined by its IP rating (e.g. IP44, IP55). The number of sounds, e.g. with your favourite melodies, is important too. You can choose a model with 16 or even 58 different sounds. It's also worth being able to adjust the doorbell's volume to your individual needs. Another very important parameter is the operating range. When choosing a doorbell, you should know the distance between the transmitter and the receiver (e.g. 100 m in open space). Additional advantages of doorbells can include LED lights by the button, ease of installation, an intelligent coding system or a modern design.
Wireless vs wired doorbell – which to choose?
A wireless doorbell is above all about convenience and quick installation – it doesn't require running cables and is easy to install and move. It works especially well where there's no existing wiring. However, it needs batteries and can be more prone to signal interference.
A wired doorbell is a more durable and stable solution – it works reliably and doesn't need battery replacements. Its installation is more demanding, though, and involves running wires.
So it's worth matching your final choice to the installation location and your own expectations about how you'll use it.
Can a video intercom be expanded with extra monitors or operated from several rooms?
Yes, our video intercoms offer the option to expand the system with additional indoor monitors. This lets you answer calls and control the entrance (e.g. a gate or wicket) from different rooms, such as an upstairs floor, an office or a bedroom. The number of supported monitors depends on the specific model, so it's worth checking the device's specification before purchase.
What features do electronic door viewers offer, and how do the models in our range differ?
The electronic door viewers in our range are modern devices that increase the comfort and security of using your front door. Depending on the model, they can offer, among others:
- a colour LCD display for a convenient view of the image,
- a wide-angle camera for better visibility of the area in front of the door,
- a night mode with infrared LEDs,
- a photo or video recording function,
- built-in memory or microSD card support,
- a doorbell function,
- motion detection and automatic event recording,
- Wi-Fi connectivity and mobile app support (in selected models),
- two-way audio communication.
Differences between models mainly concern the range of features (e.g. the presence of Wi-Fi, motion detection or audio), image quality, battery capacity and how data is stored. This lets you pick a door viewer perfectly suited to your needs — from simple models for everyday use to more advanced smart solutions.
Doorbells, video intercoms and peepholes – convenience and security for everyday life

These practical solutions are perfect for both apartments and larger homes, where traditional knocking can easily go unnoticed. Doorbells provide a clear audio signal, video intercoms allow you to see and speak with the person at the entrance, and peepholes let you quickly check the situation without opening the door. Check out Spreest's offer and find the perfect equipment for your home.
How does a wireless doorbell work?
A wireless doorbell works using a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter – the button mounted by the door – sends a radio signal to the receiver, which plays the chosen melody. This means there's no need to run cables or carry out a complicated installation.
How does a video intercom differ from a regular doorbell?
A video intercom, or a doorbell with a camera, besides ringing also lets you see the view in front of the entrance. This means you can see who is standing at the door, and in many models also talk to the visitor remotely via your phone.
What is an electronic door viewer?
An electronic door viewer is a modern version of the traditional peephole. Instead of looking through a small hole in the door, the user sees the image on an LCD screen, which is more convenient and safer.
