Frequently asked questions
What features do WiFi and non-WiFi viewfinders offer?
Wi-Fi peepholes offer remote viewing, motion detection, and mobile app notifications, allowing you to monitor your home from anywhere. Non-Wi-Fi peepholes are more basic but often allow you to take photos or record video clips, which are saved to a memory card.
Are peepholes difficult to install?
No, most peepholes are designed for easy, do-it-yourself installation. WiFi peepholes may require additional network connection setup, but the process is usually straightforward and described step-by-step in the user manual.
What are the power options for the viewfinders?
Most modern viewfinders run on rechargeable batteries. Battery life on a single charge can vary depending on the model and usage, but many devices offer easy-to-recharge batteries via standard USB ports.
Can WiFi peepholes be integrated with other smart home devices?
Yes, some WiFi peephole models can be integrated with other smart home devices, allowing you to, for example, automatically send the peephole image to smartphones or other devices when motion is detected.
What are the storage options for viewfinders?
Viewfinders can store data in several ways:
- Non-WiFi peepholes typically save photos and video clips directly to SD cards, which can be easily removed and viewed on other devices.
- WiFi viewfinders can offer both local storage on SD cards and remote cloud storage, which often involves additional subscriptions.
Are the visors weatherproof?
Viewfinders, especially those mounted outdoors, are typically designed to withstand various weather conditions. Checking the IP (Ingress Protection) rating will help determine how water- and dust-resistant the device is.
What security measures do WiFi peepholes provide?
WiFi peepholes provide additional security measures such as real-time monitoring, motion detection notifications, and remote interaction, giving you more control over your home security.

Great product
The device offers features comparable to newer EZVIZ models, but at a significantly lower price. The image quality is very good. The most difficult part is connecting to Wi-Fi for the first time – you have to hold the button for 5 seconds until you hear a different message, then show the device the screen with the QR code from the app. There's no signal indicating that scanning is in progress. Once connected, the rest of the setup is straightforward. It's unclear whether the device can be used without Wi-Fi and a smartphone as a standard peephole.

It works great
I recommend it. It's a good value for the price. The large display makes it easy for an elderly person or a child to see the staircase. Easy to install. The peephole is cone-shaped, so I had to slightly enlarge the door opening. Installation takes about 5 minutes.
