Gate runs just as it should
Installed it myself in one afternoon, 5 m gate, about 500 kg. Set everything up from my phone, the travel learning did itself. My wife has access through the app, I use the remote. Runs quietly, the neighbour doesn't even hear me drive in.

Bought the photocells for an opener from the same brand, wiring took 5 minutes. The lens adjustment came in handy because the posts aren't exactly opposite each other. The gate reverses when someone stands in the driveway, the kids have already tested it.

A smart gate opener is above all about easy setup and everyday convenience – you do all the programming, adding remotes and adjusting parameters from your phone, without opening the controller housing. You can open the gate from anywhere over Wi-Fi, and when there's no internet the app automatically switches to Bluetooth within a range of up to 10 m. You share access with household members or guests using a QR code, and the opening history and gate schedule are always at hand.
A classic opener, operated with a remote and the buttons on the control board, is a simpler solution that doesn't depend on a Wi-Fi network or a phone. It works well where the gate simply needs to open and close on a remote signal and extra features aren't needed.

How does a sliding gate opener work?
A sliding gate opener is a motor with a gearbox, mounted on a foundation next to the gate. On its shaft there is a pinion gear that meshes with a gear rack screwed to the gate leaf. As the pinion turns, it moves the gate along its track, while limit magnets define the fully open and fully closed positions. You operate the opener with a remote, a push button or – in smart models – from an app on your phone.
How does a sliding gate opener differ from a swing gate opener?
A sliding gate opener is a single unit that moves the leaf along the fence. A double swing gate opener consists of two actuators – one for each leaf – and a control unit that synchronises their movement. The choice therefore depends on the gate you have: the opener has to match its design, weight and leaf length.
What are photocells and a flashing lamp for on a gate?
Photocells are an infrared transmitter and receiver that create an invisible beam across the gate opening. When a car, a person or an animal crosses it, the opener stops the leaf or reverses it.
