The Spreest GS020 gas detector is an advanced device designed to detect gases such as natural gas (CH4) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the air in homes, offices, and other similar locations.

If a gas leak is detected, the device emits a loud alarm signal and its indicator flashes, and it also automatically controls a valve or actuator to cut off the source of the gas leak. The device has a lifespan of up to 5 years.

Wireless sensors eliminate the need to run cables to connect to a central unit, making it effortless to install this siren anywhere with access to electricity.

It works with Spreest brand alarm systems available in our offer, including H700, H501, and other GSM and Wi-Fi alarms operating on the 433 MHz frequency. For alarming, the sensor must be wirelessly paired with the alarm system via the 433 MHz frequency.

The sensor is powered by a permanent 12V supply or via the power cable included in the kit.

Key Features

1. High Sensitivity: The device is highly sensitive and can quickly react to low concentrations of gases, detecting them within the 0-100% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) range.

2. Compatibility with External Devices: The detector can be connected to external devices such as solenoid valves and exhaust fans.

Example: If a gas leak is detected, the detector will automatically turn on the exhaust fan to remove gas from the room, minimizing the risk of explosion.

3. Alarm System Integration: The detector can be integrated with an alarm system that notifies the user of an alarm.

4. High Alarm Volume: The detector emits a sound of 80 dB, which is equivalent to the sound of a passing car.

5. Easy Installation: The device can be mounted on the wall with screws or double-sided adhesive tape, providing flexibility in installation.

6. PIN Connectors: The detector is equipped with three pins: +12, HAND, and VALVE.

+12 Pin: 12V power supply.

HAND Pin: Output to an actuator that can close a gas valve or activate another safety device.

VALVE Pin: Output to a solenoid valve, allowing automatic gas shut-off in case of an alarm.

Installation and Settings

Location: The detector and the gas furnace should be in the same indoor space. The optimal horizontal distance between the detector and the gas source is 1.5 to 4 meters. The vertical distance of the detector from the gas source should be more than 0.5 meters, and the distance from the ceiling at least 0.3 meters.

1. Using screws:

• Screw the bracket to the ceiling or wall using the included screws. Place the detector in the bracket and rotate it clockwise to secure it.

2. Using adhesive tape:

• Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and stick it to the bottom of the detector, then peel off the other side and attach the detector to a flat surface.

Configuration and Usage

1. Testing:

Without an alarm, press the button to test the audible signal and indicators for 2 seconds. Hold the button to test the output for the valve/actuator; all indicators will flash rapidly.

Regularly test the detector to ensure all functions are working correctly.

2. Clearing pairing records:

Power on the device and briefly press the "Set" button. All LEDs will illuminate. Hold the "Set" button until you hear a beep, indicating that all pairing records have been cleared.

Indicators

Power: A green indicator means the power supply is correct.

Alarm: A flashing red indicator means a gas leak or high temperature has been detected.

Fault: A flashing yellow indicator signals a sensor fault.

Life: A flashing yellow indicator indicates the end of the sensor's lifespan.

Device Operation

1. Warm-up:

• After powering on the device, the detector warms up for about 180 seconds, indicated by flashing alarm, fault, and life indicators.

2. Operation:

• When there is no alarm, and the fault and life indicators are not flashing, the green power indicator remains steadily lit, meaning the device is working correctly.

3. Gas leak alarm:

• When a gas leak is detected, the detector will emit a loud alarm signal, the red alarm indicator will start flashing, and the valve/actuator will be activated to cut off the gas source.

4. Muting:

• In case of an alarm, press the button to mute the alarm sound.

5. Returning to normal state:

• The alarm will automatically turn off once the air in the room is cleared.

Warnings and Notes: Alcohol vapor and similar substances, intense cigarette smoke, gas from burners, cleaning agents, and other strong-smelling chemicals can cause false alarms. The device aims to reduce risk but does not guarantee complete safety.

The set includes

  • 1x USB-C Power Cable
  • 1x 12V Power Cables
  • 1x Mounting Tape
  • 1x Mounting Plugs
