Installation
The JD-3221RN system operates based on a simple wired connection between the indoor unit and the outdoor panel.
For basic installation, a 4-wire connection is sufficient: 1–1 audio, 2–2 ground/GND, 3–3 electric strike opening power supply, and 4–4 outdoor unit power supply. This allows the intercom to enable conversation with the person at the entrance, remote opening of the pedestrian gate, and control of the driveway gate.
- Indoor unit – Used for talking with the guest and operating the pedestrian and driveway gate opening.
- Outdoor unit – Mounted at the property entrance. It is equipped with a call button, microphone, and speaker.
- Driveway Gate – The intercom has a separate output for controlling the driveway gate. Terminals 6/7 on the indoor unit function as a NO contact, i.e., a normally open contact. This is a potential-free output — pressing the gate opening button closes the contacts, which can control gate automation or another device.
- Pedestrian Gate Electric Strike – Can be connected directly to the outdoor unit. The intercom supports 12V DC electric strikes with a current draw of up to 3A.
- 12V DC Power Supply – Powers the intercom system. When using a 12V DC electric strike with a current draw below 3A, the entire system can operate on the power supply included in the kit.
The electric strike is not part of the kit and must be selected separately for the planned installation.
Recommended cables: RVV 4 × 0.2 mm² up to 15 m, RVV 4 × 0.5 mm² up to 50 m, and RVV 2 × 1.0 mm² for connecting the electric strike to the outdoor unit for distances up to 10 m.
